The CODATA reports, mentioned on page 309, get updated from time to time, and these reports
are published both as short reports in the annual Physics Today Buyers Guide supplements, and
on the web. The latest of these, commenting on the 1998 CODATA set of recommended constants,
is given in the August 2001 issue of Physics Today
(Mohr and Taylor, 2001), in regular journal articles
(Mohr and Taylor, 1999, 2000)
and on the web at the
NIST Constants website. The two long journal
articles are in fact the same article (so don't waste time on the second if you
find one of them), and are of interest to those concerned with how the values were deduced.
The changes from one revision to the next are usually too small to be of interest to most
workers in 'surfaces and thin films'.
