  • Introduction

This project is offered as a result of my being engaged in studies of nucleation and growth of small metal particles on ionic crystal surfaces, and my need to know more about these surfaces. A short introduction to the reconstructions on such surfaces is given in my lecture notes,
    section 1.4.8.

More recently I have attended a conference, and have obtained a very useful list of starting references, which are posted to enable you to explore whether the topic is relevant. At this stage, there are many ways such a project could develop, so an expression of interest is all that is needed to get started.
