In this lecture, I have covered various aspects of the electronic and optical properties of thin film semiconductor device structures. Since this a vast field in its own right, I have only ever been able to give a relatively elementary introduction. I am in the process of updating my notes before going public on this web page, and am consulting with colleagues as to what they think their students ought to know, and what are the best references to the literature.
